Technology terms are used in everyday life to refer to processes, concepts and methods. Different countries and cultures use different terms for the same things. What may be referred to by one person as an “electrical appliance” may be called by another person a “radio”, or a “chain saw”. The term for a person who is mechanically inclined may be called a “techno-smasher”.

Technological development can be either horizontal or vertical,

meaning it has been developed to adapt to the changing conditions of technology or be adjusted to the changing conditions of technology. In other words, technological development can take the form of innovation or diffusion.

Horizontal technological development is a process whereby new developments are applied to the existing equipment without any change, except that the new element may be in some way improved on or added to the existing equipment. In the case of electrical appliances, the cost of production is reduced and this results in lower prices for consumers. This process produces more efficient equipment.

Horizontal technological development can be gradual or sudden, as a result of the activities of companies or the efforts of a single individual. There are many different types of continuous technological development such as scientific research, manufacturing, and biological and medical developments. Some technologies are constantly being improved as the need arises and this requires continuous research.

Technological diffusion is a process where new and improved techniques to spread through the population and lead to changes in the methods of existing methods. Such changes result in changes in the technical details, which in turn lead to new advances in technology.

It should be noted that the laws of physics apply to both new and traditional methods, including the human body. Therefore, modern medicine, which is one of the most widely practiced and accepted forms of technology, has gone through many phases of change, many of which are still in use today. Technology is the application of scientific principles to new, practical applications.

Every invention involves the introduction of an element of risk and confusion, especially when it is not well understood or when there is a lack of standardized terminology. It is important that proper technical terminology is used, because without it no reference to the function or purpose of the equipment will be possible.

Even the most common forms of electronic appliances may come in different brand names

or descriptions and this will result in the creation of a new language. The importance of standardized terminology in any industry cannot be overstated. All technologies are very much dependent on the application of commonly understood technical terms.

Safety is one of the biggest concerns for all industries. This is especially true for equipment that may be in use by hundreds of people at the same time. If terminology is not clearly defined then even the simplest actions involving these products could result in injuries or even death.

All production equipment should include precautionary measures to avoid the hazards associated with hazardous objects, materials, processes, people and circumstances. This includes not only health and safety controls, but also information on each individual step in the process.

Terminology may include safety standards, objectives, procedures, evaluations, timelines, materials, measurements, etc. All aspects of production should be well documented and taken care of at all times. The safest production workers are those who are most comfortable with the situation they are in and these individuals have the most trust in their organization.

  • Incorporating proper terminology into any industry will reduce the number of occurrences of accidents and fatalities.
  • Many words are interchangeable but the meanings of terms can vary widely from place to place and from industry to industry.
  • With proper training, employees will be more adept at utilizing and understanding technology terms.
